Hide-Away Farm
About US
Welcome to Hide Away Farm located off of Highway 30 in Etowah, TN. We are a small family owned lesson and training barn specializing in Hunter/Jumpers, dressage and combined training. We believe in customized lesson plan to fit each individuals goals and needs. We begin from the ground up teaching proper care, handling techniques, grooming, tacking, and anatomy to more advanced rider bio-mechanics, psychology and training methods. Our mission is to develop all riders into safe, confident individuals with a thorough knowledge of good horsemanship. We are open for lessons to young and old alike, new to advanced and everywhere in between. Plan a lesson on one of our experienced Lesson horses or on your own! Hide-Away Farm offers training to all breeds and disciplines. We have built a strong barn family of horses and riders through dedication, compassion and understanding of our sport. We offer lessons, training, and boarding as well as a fantastic show team, summer camp, and Pony Lovers class.
HAF opened in 2015 as a 3 stall barn housing 2 horses (Tara and Dude) on 11 acres. By 2020 we have grown to a 11 stall facility and 18 acres. We have been blessed over the years to be able to expand as our program has grown. It seems the work never ends as we strive to bring better education, amenities and opportunities to our clients and community!
Shanna Rose
Owner/Manager/Instructor
Shanna purchased Hide-Away Farm in 2015 with the goal of having a riding facility for future equestrians to enjoy along with teaching her own two children how to ride and care for horses. Her love of horses began at the age of 8 being a groom at her local Standardbred Farm which progressed to a licensed groom for the United States Trotter Association when she was 16. She raced horses all through high school before going to college to study Equine Science and Pre-veterinary medicine, there she also joined the combined training, hunt seat and dressage team. After getting married and traveling with her military husband, she continued riding and showing hunt seat in various states including Massachusetts. There she managed a large dressage facility and trained with a USDF medalist and "R" judge, as well as teaching hunt seat over fences before moving to Tennessee with her family. Shanna also has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology and blends her love of working with people with her passion for horses.
